Do You “Follow” Me?

Have you followed the movements? In joining the “U Drop I Follow” and “I Follow” movements, I join a wide range of blogs that have decided to help their fellow bloggers.

Joining the “U Drop I Follow” movement has allowed me to expand my Entrecard network of friends simply because when I earn credits I return the favor. This movement has been increasing dramatically with over 270+ blogs joining in and showing their support by adding a badge signifying their involvement. As for the “I Follow” movement, the amount of blogs that have followed this trend is endless. There are lists developed by several bloggers that include hundreds of blogs that are passing “link juice” to other blogs. These movements have their advantages and disadvantages, but there is nothing wrong with giving them a try.

Great to see new blogs using Do follow, and comment and keywordluv. Just watch the comments come in. It’s worth adding your blog to the do -follow blog dir, however you will get a fair few spammers.

  2. Karlonia from Internet Marketing Blog Says:

My blog at Karlonia.com does not yet have the CommentLuv plugin but it is DoFollow for comments. I just discovered the KeywordLuv plugin (great idea!) earlier today, but sadly my theme seems to be incompatible. This probably doesn’t matter much, however; people seem to be doing a good enough job of putting their keywords in the name field anyway :)

Thank you for joining the DoFollow movement.

I just installed KeywordLuv plugin, I am hoping this will increase the communication with visitors to my site. I really like finding KeywordLuv plugin sites, I think this is one of the more interesting Wordpress plugins. I’m dofollow too, come visit if you want to make a good comment!

My favourite search term on google has also become “This site uses keywordluv”. I think it is the coolest plugin available. I use it on my site and since the commenting has increased dramatically (and the readership).

  5. David Says:

All these plugins (keywordluv, commentluv, dofollow) have definitely taken the blogosphere by storm. Most blogs now, from my experience, have started with dofollow to accumulate some interest into their site through comments. I guess only time will tell to see how effective that was for me :)

  6. Saving money Says:

I think that after all the dust settles, all of these plugins will have had a net positive effect on spam. My post is probably a good example…the name field looks a little spammy, but the reaponse isn’t, because you’ve offered an obvious way to keep the text comments on topic.

    Thanks for the commentluv !

  7. Dave from BBQ recipes Says:

I wholeheartedly agree with this notion, I’m made my blogs do follow.

Isn’t this the spirit of the internet, to build readers and a community.

  8. Dave from Search Engine Sensation Says:

It is good to see more and more bloggers using the do follow plugin to make their comment links ‘do follow’. This movement not only had a positive effect on the blogosphere, but also created an awareness. Many people did not know that blog scripts were always set to no follow. The other follow movements are a little less effective in my opinion: U drop, I follow and U comment, I follow. It just brings in so much more work for the bloggers. To follow up on every comment made on the blog and the follow up on every drop in their Entrecard inbox. How can you find the time for it?

  9. Michiel from Manual Directory Submission Says:

    yes!

I seriously worry about this tendency to have the minorities set the rules; the vast majority of bloggers-commenters are not spammers, sure they want to get a link, but they’re serious about their work etc.

while this nofollow hype on blogs basically means that the majority gets punished for the behavior of the minority spammers !

in other words; I’m really relieved to see this counter move spreading … hehe

I have just an Entrecard at the moment~I will think about the additional badge, though I think it need be just a common courtesy of people who are dropped on to come visit the dropper. Me no want people to comment if they really don’t have something of value to say

  13. Lisa from Seo Cart Says:

I’ve already joined the I follow movement. I believe in fighting spam, but not at the cost of bloggers and they got hit pretty hard when everyone made their links nofollow …
    Fight spam, not bloggers!

  14. Victor from Wordpress Blog Says:

This Dofollow campaign is a good one, it encourages readers to comment on the post they just read, to view their opinion on it, and at the same time, the readers get to present their own site. By this, the author also have an idea on what type of readers he has when he also check out the site of the person who commented.

Yea I think keyword luv is great but if people are not making posts that are relevant and of good quality to the blog then the owner should delete it.
