“A Good Dad Is…” Contest entry:
A good dad is a man who would sacrifice anything for his wife and children. A good dad teaches you to enjoy what you have and not to take anything for granted. A good dad disciplines his children to be the best at anything they attempt whether it’s sports, school, or, in my case, business. A good dad will push you to be better than him simply because he wants to see you succeed. A good dad cares for his wife as much as he did the day he met her. A good dad helps you when you’re struggling in school.
My dad has always pushed me to do the best at everything I’ve attempted. I once wanted to become a basketball player and he’d work with me every week on my skills. At one time I wanted to become a stock broker and he introduced me the world of investing as we both learned the fundamentals of trading together. Most recently, as I entered college, he helped me find an apartment to live in and he helps me fund the car I got last November. My dad has helped me with an endless amount of tasks, but most importantly he’s taught me how to be a hard working, responsible, charming young man. I hope to be as good a dad to my children as he was to me.
A good dad is my dad.
